Alice Shapiro

Alice Shapiro is a poet, playwright and visual artist. Shapiro studied Fine Art at Hunter College, NYC and Interior Design at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She also studied playwriting under William Packard, founder of The New York Quarterly magazine. Shapiro is currently designing costumes for a musical she is writing and creating book covers for authors. Her paintings were exhibited internationally for over 15 years. Shapiro was recently appointed as Poet Laureate of Douglasville, Georgia and is author of three books. She enjoys writing poetry for its intensity, plays for their imaginative and collaborate fun, and visual designing to relax.
