Bari Ziperstein

Bari Ziperstein is a Los Angeles based artist who holds an MFA from CalArts (2004) and double majored at Ohio University (2000) to receive a BFA in painting and a Women's Studies Degree.  A selection of recent exhibitions include the Bristol Biennial (2012); Arts Council of Long Beach Public Art (2011-12); Pop-up Exhibition at Patrick Painter Gallery, Santa Monica (2011); The Suburban, Chicago, IL (2011); Santa Monica Museum of Art (2010-11); LACMA (2010); Las Cienegas Projects, Los Angeles (2010); and Honor Fraser (2009).  Her exhibitions have been reviewed in many publications including: The Los Angeles Times, Flash Art, X-TRA, Los Angeles Weekly, Artnet, Art Lies and Art Papers.  She has taught in the UC system for the past 6 years - and is a member of the collaborative team Survey West Collaborative.  Her honors include a Artist in Residence full fellowship to Anderson Ranch Arts Center (2012), CCI ARC Completion Grant (2012), Marlborough School AIR Grant by the Philip and Muriel Berman Foundation (2011-12), and a individual artist grant from the City of Pasadena Department of Cultural Affairs (2010).
