Annie Ewaskio

Annie Ewaskio (American, b. 1981) creates luminous oil paintings that explore nonexistent worlds. She continues the tradition of Western landscapes while posing questions about the longevity of our terrain. The work is made simultaneously with fascination and repulsion, associating pure beauty with its potentially poisonous origins.

A current MFA candidate in painting at Hunter College in New York, Ewaskio has exhibited her work largely in New York and Baltimore. Aside from her extensive catalog of shows, Ewaskio was a 2011-2012 A.I.R. Gallery Fellow in Brooklyn, NY. After growing up in New Hampshire, she attended Grinnell College in Iowa and studied abroad in Florence, Italy. For more information, please visit
